“It's a miracle- so light and it melts in your mouth. I'm going to make this for my family when I get home. Thanks for such a lovely day."

Half day workshop with Linda McDougall
Spend an afternoon with Linda learning to make one of New Zealand’s most famous, delicious and controversial creations. This light, fluffy meringue cake, covered with cream and decorated with strawberries, or kiwifruit can usually be found at Kiwi family gatherings.
The workshop starts outside the kitchen with a trip across Nelson to gather free range eggs and pick fresh strawberries. Then it’s back to Linda’s home, with its fantastic views over the Matai valley and Nelson, to start your creation using some of the fresh ingredients you have collected.
During the afternoon you’ll learn about the "secrets" of successful Pavlova making and find out about its intriguing history and why both NZ and Australia claim it as their own.
